Chuck's Wagon is an alternative country band from Sydney, Australia.
Inspired by the likes of traditional country artists such as the late great Johnny Cash as well as alternative country rock bands such as Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco up to and including the recent Shooter Jennings with some BR-549 thrown in for fun.
Keeping with tradition, the songs cover heartbreak, sin and redemption and the hope that only country can conjure up. Live, the band gets down to business, and they wind it right out, all with a char grin. Plus Special Guests: Mother Truckers Mother Truckers cruise down Highway 1 directly towards the swamp with Wanda Jackson & Tom Waits in the cabin and Nancy Sinatra in the back seat. They hail from Sydney, Australia and are a five piece alternative country rock outfit. Chucks Wagon formed in late 2005, emerging from the prime cuts of Deadwood 76, 50 Million Beers and Rusty Weld and the Nitesweats. Chucks Wagon are an original band that finds it’s inspiration in the form of Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Shooter Jennings, Johnny Cash, Wilco,BR-549, to name but a few. Chucks Wagon released there debut e.p “ Bootleg Special in 2006, and release their debut album in August 2007. Chuck's Wagon Biography. Chucks Wagon are a five piece Alternative country band from Sydney N.S.W., Australia. Have been formed for 18 months, gestating from the prime cuts of Deadwood 76, 50 Million Beers and Rusty Weld and the Nitesweats. Chucks Wagon are an originals band, drawing their inspiration from bands such as Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Johnny Cash, Shooter Jennings, Old 97’s, The Flood, Garth Brooks, Lee Kernagan and Pure Prairie League, and other such country luminaries. In the longer shows Chucks Wagon also perform their favorite tunes from their heroes. Chucks Wagon have released an e.p. titled “bootleg special” in 2006 as they prepare for their release of their Debut album on Sunday the 12th August 2007 at the Lansdowne Hotel Sydney. This year Chucks Wagon have travelled the country side , taking in Perth , Melbourne , Canberra, and finally the Holy Grail itself Tamworth in June.
