Beauties”

Short Bio –
Formed in 1989, The Fargone Beauties were the originators of
thrashgrass, which is the performance of classic rock songs the
way they were truly intended to be – loud, electric and bluegrass
style. The band released three albums, performed on countless TV
shows, played all the pubs and clubs, and scared the life out of
audiences at every major country music festival in Australia.
The Fargones enjoyed legendary status as a sure-fire, crowd
pleasing big event drawcard throughout their earlier incarnation,
and are sure to repeat the same excitement when they return to the
stage at Tamworth this year.
The band recently reformed for an appearance at Queensland’s
Gympie Music Muster in August 2006, leaving a trail of exhausted
fans old and new queuing up to buy their new CD –
“A Load Of Old Bullocks – The Best of The Fargone Beauties”
features 20 of their best known tracks including their classic
thrashgrass hits Wild Thing, Hey Joe, Stairway To Heaven, Highway
To Hell, Play That Country Music, Born To Be Wild, and everything
else that fits.

- The Fargone Beauties are back with a
new CD
After an absence of over a decade The Fargone Beauties are back
with a new album and website.
The Fargones recently reunited for a main stage appearance at the
Toyota National Country Music Muster at Gympie in Queensland in
August 2006. In an explosion of dirt, dust, beer and bodies, they
laid to waste over 20,000 hard core music fans, many of which were
too young to have seen the band the first time round.
The Fargone Beauties enjoyed legendary status as a sure-fire,
crowd pleasing big event drawcard throughout their earlier
incarnation, and delivered the same mix of musical mayhem when
they returned to the stage at Gympie this year. They played all
their classic thrashgrass hits including Wild Thing, Hey Joe,
Stairway To Heaven, Highway To Hell, Play That Country Music,
Lonesome Me, Hey Good Lookin, Born To Be Wild, and many more. A
memorable night for all, and the trees are still smokin’.
Two days before their Gympie appearance the Fargs were also booked
as the house band on Nine Network’s NRL Footy Show where they
played the show’s theme music, play ons & play offs, and their
slightly twisted version of “Play That Country Music White Boy”.
To celebrate their reformation, and to satisfy demand for their
three previously released albums, all of which are now
unavailable, The Fargone Beauties have released a new CD –
“A Load Of Old Bullocks – The Best of The Fargone Beauties”
features 20 of their best known tracks including the classic
thrashgrass hits mentioned above and everything else that fits.
The track list is as follows –
Highway to Hell Ballroom Blitz
Stairway To Heaven Single Drop
Wild Thing / Bonanza Great Balls of Fire
Play That Country Music I Hear You Knockin’
Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll Oh Lonesome Me
Hey Joe She's So Fine
She's My Baby Hey Good Lookin’
Get It On That's The Way
Suspicious Minds Fat Bottomed Girls
Born To Be Wild The Last Time

- The Fargone Beauties first started in July 1989
as a put together warm up band for Tommy and Phil Emmanuel.
The first night was just a duo with James and John then the next
night Tommy said he would like a band as warm up so Terry joined
them and Tommy played the drums. Tommy is a
sensational drummer as well as one of the greatest guitarists in
the world. The band eventually asked drummer extraordinaire
Mark Marriott to join them. The Fargone Beauties are back
after a 10 year break
