Kristy is an
Australian country girl, living on a property near Dubbo in New
South Wales.
She has a real passion for singing and performing, and as a
teenager, she’s exposed to all genres, but Country Music wins out
every time!
The recording of her debut CD/EP “Lead On” came about through a
fortuitous meeting with her Producer Greg Williams, of Tamworth
Recording Suite, in the latter part of 2008. “I was so taken by
Kristy’s sweet-sounding voice and attitude, mature beyond her years,
that we immediately decided that she’d record this EP.”
This is the first step to achieving Kristy’s dreams of a career in
Country Music.
Initially the idea behind the recording was to satisfy a demand from
her audiences, and to promote herself to “live” venues, but it soon
became impossible to ignore the inevitability of releasing the first
single “A Love Like That” to radio via NFS130 compilation CD. It’s
such a great radio song! On its release at Tamworth Country Music
Festival 2009, where Kristy busked every day in Peel Street, this
EP/CD sold like hot cakes, and that’s sure to continue, as audiences
just love Kristy. Of the 600+ buskers in Tamworth 2009, Kristy was
judged to be in the top10!
As well as her incredibly supportive mum Donna, dad Wayne and
family, Kristy’s had strong musical support from her local singing
teacher George Charles and guitar tutor Dale Freeman, as well as her
numerous friends.
Greg Williams, along with an amazing array of talented musicians,
has produced a great sounding EP/CD “Lead On” with these
well-sourced songs:

Kristy has deep family commitment, and the song "Up On His
Shoulders" , written by Aussie songwriters Mike Carr and Colin
Buchanana, is dedicated to her late grandad Mack.
The single “A Love Like That” is being played on radio all around
Australia, New Zealand and overseas, with spontaneous acceptance by
radio and audiences everywhere. Kristy Schneider is certainly a name
to look out for!
