- 17 YEAR OLD LIAM BREW WINS GYMPIE MUSTER
Judge Trena-Jane Rowlands said she judged Liam in the
heats and the final. "In the talent search, we are looking for a
talented person with great vocals and a great muso, like he is,
but you're also looking for someone who has the X-Factor. When
he played on the main stage...he had them in the palm of his
hand." she said.
From Palmview in Queensland Liam took another step closer to
achieving his dream by winning the Overall Maton Talent Search
and performing on the Main Stage at the National Toyota Music
Muster held recently in the Amamoor State Forrest near Gympie.
This was Liam’s second year attending the Gympie Muster hoping
to gain further exposure and supporting other up and coming
young artists. Liam was also given the opportunity of comparing
and performing on the Muster Club Stage which he did with the
backing of Mitchell King and Jessie Davis from Queensland and
Mick Lockhart, Sean Rudd, Aaron Pike and Tori Darke from New
South Wales.
Liam is currently the Overall Junior Winner at the Urban Country
Music Festival Talent Search at Caboolture QLD and took out
second place as a duo with Tori Darke. Liam then teamed up with
Kris Wason to win the Busking Championship as well. He was
Overall Senior Winner at the Bundaberg Easter Round-up 2007,
where he was also awarded Most Outstanding Performance. Liam
will be performing in the 2007 Champion of Champions in
Queensland in November and is a finalist in the 2008 Telstra
Road To Tamworth.
Liam is excited to be playing at the upcoming “Sun, Surf and
Soul Caloundra Music Festival” on the Sunshine Coast in October
among other artists such as The McClymonts, Travis Collins,
James Blundell and Jimmy Barnes. He will also perform at Wests
Leagues Club in Tamworth in January and will be back on the main
stage at the Gympie Muster in 2008.
