- Pete Gervasoni Biography
“As a songwriter you are always
searching for that elusive line, an emotion, something that will
embrace your soul. As a vocalist you give your soul to your
audience”
Under the hat
Pete is part of the new breed of hat
act for the 21st century expressing themselves through their
music. Having already defined himself as an accomplished
songwriter and vocal entertainer, Pete is constantly pushing
himself in new directions and delivering stand out performances
both live and on his recent first release CD ‘The Beginning’
Born and raised in Ballarat, Victoria, Pete Gervasoni was
encouraged to dream, he dreamed of being a musical influence and
share his talent with the world.
In 2004, Pete’s dream started to become a reality when the AFL
invited him to perform his award winning original song
‘What are they
marching for?’
as the headline performer at the MCG on Anzac Day in front of a
sold out crowd of more than 65,000 people.
Growing up listening to his parent’s country music collection of
Slim Dusty, Charlie Pride and many others, it paved the way for a
career in country music, although it was not until 1995 when at
the age of 17 Pete heard the legendary Garth Brooks on the radio
and changed things forever.
“I remember driving in the car with my parents and heard ‘The
Dance’ come on the radio, I knew then and there what I wanted to
do with my life, and Country music was it. From then on I was a
Garth Brooks wanna-be, and ten years on looking at the success
Garth has had I’m still a Garth Brooks wanna-be”.
From that day forward he spent every spare moment studying the art
of entertaining. Always the perfectionist, Gervasoni began to push
himself to new levels in his song writing, vocal skills and
entertaining.
2004 was a successful year for Pete, performing for the first time
at the MCG in front of 65,000 people and releasing his long
awaited debut E.P "The
Beginning".
In 2005, Pete successfully competed in the finals of the ‘Telstra
Road to Tamworth’ competition in Tamworth, and was a finalist in
the top male vocalist section at the Victorian Country Music
awards. Pete also signed a major sponsorship deal with Wrangler
Clothing to supply clothing and merchandise.
2006, Pete has decided to take his career to the next level by
gathering some of country music’s hottest musicians to form a
touring band for shows and festivals around the nation. Comprising
