MURRAY’S TOUR ROLLS AROUND AUSTRALIA
- "SEE THE SUN" GOES DOUBLE PLATINUM AND
‘CLASS A’
IS THE MOST ADDED TRACK AT RADIO!
Pete Murray’s critically acclaimed album, “See The Sun” was
certified double platinum (140,000+ sales) today - less than six weeks
after it was released.
‘See The Sun’ is more energetic and has more of a live sound than its
hugely successful predecessor “Feeler”. It’s therefore only
appropriate that “See The Sun” has been supported by non-stop touring
as Pete and his band the Stonemasons gig their way right around
Australia. Last week they played sold out venues in regional centers
like Tamworth, Armidale and Nambour. Shows in regional Victoria, WA
and the Hunter region will follow through November before Pete heads
to North Queensland for a series of dates where he’ll be supported by
multiple ARIA Award winner Ben Lee.
Pete Murray’s second single “Class A” was taken to media last week and
was once again the #1 most added track at radio.
The first single from the disc – “Better Days” - was a #1 airplay hit
and is still among the five most played songs on Australian airwaves.
The video for “Class A” was recently shot near the St Kilda Esplanade
in Melbourne and will premiere on television later this week .
Through December Pete will perform on several summer festivals
including The Falls (Vic), Feelgood (Sydney) and Southbound (WA).
It was also announced this week that Pete Murray will be one of the
headliners at this year’s Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland. This
will be the 20th anniversary of Australia’s legendary folk and roots
music event and it will happen at the very end of December as always.

For those people who can’t get to one of the shows on this lengthy
tour, Pete and the band will play six songs in a concert special to be
broadcast Tuesday November 8 on the Ten Network. His “Live At The
Chapel” performance will launch the new series of this highly regarded
TV show.

To coincide with the release of Pete Murray's new album 'See The Sun',
Pete and his band, 'The Stonemasons' are hitting the road on a 37 date
National tour with tickets for all shows going on sale on September 1!
Covering everything from soul –baring ballads to joyous rock’n’roll
celebrations, the new disc is the first which Pete has recorded
completely with his road hardened touring band so it seems only
appropriate to launch it with a big run of shows.
The “See The Sun” tour will take Pete right around Australia. It will
begin in late September with a series of intimate club gigs in major
cities – starting in Pete’s old hometown of Brisbane. These dates in
‘smaller than usual’ venues such as The Metro in Sydney and The Forum
in Melbourne will provide a unique chance for big city fans to see
Pete and his band in action up close and personal.
Through October and November Pete will then travel around the rest of
the country with shows in most major regional centres including four
dates in North Queensland with special guest Ben Lee. This leg of the
tour will also include appearances on several of the ‘A Day On The
Green’ Festivals plus performances at the Falls Festivals over the New
Years period.
With 3 sold out national tours under their belt and a 6 x platinum
selling record with Feeler, Pete and his band, The Stonemasons are
excited to be back and performing material from his new album, See The
Sun for the first time.

September 4.
See The Sun which is scheduled for release on September 25 was
recorded in Melbourne and co-produced by Eric Sarafin (Ben Harper,
Michael Franti) and Pete Murray.
