2009

Nashville for Recording Session with Producer Mark Moffatt

Australia's Peter McWhirter entertained Music City audiences
last week with multiple performances during the 2009 CMA Music
Festival, held June 11-14 in downtown Nashville, Tenn.
The 2009 winner of Australia's Telstra Road to Tamworth talent
competition, McWhirter traveled to Nashville to participate in
this year's CMA Music Fest activities, which included a
jam-packed performance at the Riverfront Park Daytime Stage on
Friday, June 12.
"This has been one of the most exciting weeks of my life," said
McWhirter. "Now that I've played at one of the world's greatest
music festivals, I can't wait to start recording my album here
in Nashville."
The 19-year-old is currently recording his debut album with
veteran Nashville producer Mark Moffatt. Moffatt, originally
from Australia, works with the Telstra Road to Tamworth winner
each year as part of the competition's awarded prize package.
"Peter is an enthusiastic young performer that really knows how
to work a crowd," says Moffatt. "His performance at the CMA
Music Festival definitely proves that. I'm looking forward to
working with him for the next few weeks and putting some of that
personality down on his debut record."
McWhirter also performed at the CMA Global Artist Party on
Monday, June 8 2009, at The Stage on Broadway to jump-start this
year's week of festivities. A recap of Monday and Tuesday's
global events can be viewed at

McWhirter is scheduled to remain in Nashville for the rest of
