- Hello Friends,
- Just a note to let you know that we are Europe bound. This is the
first time we have taken the whole band on tour in Europe, so we are
very excited and hoping no one loses their passport. Please tell your
friends and Scandinavian cousins.
Here in the states, I am taking a deep, deep breath. After our Austin
City Limits taping and so much touring, it was time to do laundry. So
I am writing lyrics on napkins, trying new recipes on friends, taking
naps with my dog, playing piano all afternoon and living life in one
place for a change.
The band, however, refuses to stop rocking. We are proud to say that
Sweet B Brad Rice is touring with Son Volt, in Japan this very moment
hopefully eating good sushi. Danny E is in San Fran probably eating
good sushi too. Zeke and Jay, the rhythm section who never cease to
amaze, are taking over the world. While Jay drove over 40,000 miles
last year on the Tambourine World Tour, Zeke launched Vella
Recordings. Vellas first release, Stillhouses Through the Winter, has
received much acclaim and will be further released on Rounder Europe
later this year. Stillhouse is a supergroup who never let me join,
featuring Zeke and Jay teamed with our talented friends Greg Readling
and Dave Wilson from Chatham County Line. Check out

with us at the Blue Highways Festival in the Netherlands later this
month.
This summer, we will try out new songs in the USA, open for Dwight
Yoakam in the UK, get back to the studio when the time feels right.
And take whatever other adventures come our way, of course. Thanks for

- Mindy Smith
Hello all -
We are about to set off on the second leg of the Tambourine world
tour, heading for the west coast through Kansas, Colorado, Idaho!
Please check out the dates below, and our in-store appearances too.
The band and I are having a blast on the road. Our recent run in New
England was really rocking. For those of you who haven't met our new
family members, Brad "Sweet B" Rice is playing guitar, and the very
handsome Dan Eisenberg is holding down the keys. Zeke Hutchins and Jay
Brown, of course, are our faithful rhythm smiths. On this next run, we
are very pleased to be opening for Mindy Smith. We will be slightly
acoustic, still high octane and for the first time - in a tour bus.
Please come if you can. We are hoping to wear the pavement with
Tambourine shaking and many new dates to come, too. Thanks to you all
for your support, for which I am so grateful. See you on the road.
