When the winner was announced for the 2006 Toyota Star Maker Quest, you would expect the other grand finalists were disappointed, however for Tim Farren of Victoria, the Star Maker experience has brought about some fantastic benefits.

After spending two very intense weeks at the CMAA Australian College of Country Music, Tim gave a stand-out performance at the Star Maker grand final, singing two of his own songs ‘Seasons Of Change’ and ‘Till I Found You’. Many audience members were so moved by Tim that they took the time to congratulate him on his inspiring performance. “I am amazed by the amount of people that still stop me and say how much they enjoyed my Star Maker performance. I have received so much great feedback from not only the audience but also within the industry, I really don’t mind that I didn’t win” said Tim.

Following on from Star Maker, Tim took the time to re-establish some important contacts within the country music industry after being away from his music for some years. “The Tamworth Country Music Festival was an excellent experience for me. I got to attend the College, meet some great people and compete in Star Maker. I am now ready to take my music to the next level”.

Tim plans to have a busy year in 2006. This will include a new single, performing regularly around Victoria with his band and getting out to some of the best country music festivals around. He will also undertake some serious songwriting in preparation for his next album. Tim has previously had recording success with his debut album ‘Seasons Of Change’, that saw him receive four top five nominations at the 2005 Victorian Country Music Awards and winning the Victorian Male Vocalist of the Year. Now he is rearing to get back into the studio to create an album that really shows his passion for the music he loves.
After performing at this weekends Wandong Country Music Festival, and one of the Western Victorian District’s major events, Heywood’s Wood, Wine and Roses Festival, Tim is continuing to create a strong fan base and is impressing festival organisers with his dynamic vocals and heart felt songs.

So country music lovers should keep an eye and ear out for the name, “Tim Farren”, as 2006 may not have been his year to win Toyota Star Maker, but it will be a successful one regardless.
