- 2002 Tamworth Camerata graduate,
Shandell Tosoni, is another ex student making her mark in the
entertainment industry. Australian Idol’s Jessica Mauboy, Aleyce
Simmonds, Nick Kingswell, Kirsty Lee Akers (Toyota Star Maker
2007), Brianna Lee – Telstra Road To Tamworth winners. Shea
Fisher, recently signed to ABC Music and EMI artists The Baileys.
This is just a sample of the successes of the Camerata Youth
Country Music school that is held in Tamworth every July.
Shandell has just joined the cast of the $23 million Australian
Outback Spectacular on the Gold Coast. Presented by RM Williams
and located next to Warner Bros at Movie World.
Throughout the one and half hour of spectacular audio and visual
effects, the enclosed 1000 seat arena is filled with Outback
music, drama and action with a cast of larger than life
characters, amazing animals and spectacular scenes featuring wild
horses, stampeding cattle, bush vehicles and superb stunts. During
the heat of the action, guests will be served a 3-course Aussie
BBQ dinner and drinks. Experience the heart and soul of the
Australian Outback with Australian Outback Spectacular - an
incredible journey to the real heart of Australia.
Nightly, from Tuesday to Sunday, the giant Arena thunders with the
hooves of Australian stock horses as the action–packed performance
unfolds. It’s an electric atmosphere steeped in the courage and
daring spirit of the outback. Every twist and turn of the show
features a cast of larger than life characters and amazing
animals, with spectacular scenes featuring wild horses, stampeding
cattle, an array of bush vehicles and an unforgettable display of
horsemanship.
A highlight of the show is built around the competitive spirit of
Australians. The audience is split into two groups after receiving
free stockmen's hats whose headbands depict their respective
station. They barrack and cheer for their stockmen and women to
bring home the ultimate prize of "top station". This "station
muster" is an exciting and breathtaking part of the show which
highlights the incredible skills of both horse and rider.
Shandell will take the role of Kate in the show, daughter of a
station owner and entertaining during the pre show period.
She is aware that her job will be hard working and lots of hands
on with the animals but the one thing that Shandell learnt at
Camerata is that hard work is often rewarded.
