in Newcastle, NSW, Troy Martin Kemp is an artist on the rise. At age
33, Troy has an impressive musical history and an exciting future…….

THE STORY
- In 1997
Troy released his first solo, independent EP, ‘Scratchin’ In The
Dirt’. The EP showcased an acoustically driven swag of country rock
songs that caught the attention of both music lovers and The Music
Industry alike.
During this time The Troy Kemp Band was
becoming a popular drawcard on the Sydney Music Scene, opening for
artist’s such as
Daryl Braithwaite, Richard Clapton,
Deisel and Jeff Lang to name a few.
Troy was a featured guest artist on the
TV music program ‘Ground Zero’ and due to his popularity was featured in
the popular ladies ‘B Magazine’.
Troy also features as guitarist in Lee
Kernaghan’s ‘Goondiwindi Moon’ music video.
From a field of 180 bands, The Troy Kemp
Band finished 2nd in the Grand Final of the 1998 ‘Breeding
Ground’ band competition held at The Hard Rock Café, Sydney. Troy went
on to record his second EP and was invited to play a month of gigs at
The Hard Rock Hotel, Bali, in January 1999.
The past 4 years has seen Troy
performing and song-writing with songwriters in Canada and Nashville,
USA.
Troy is currently performing regularly
in Newcastle with his sights set on breaking back into the Australian
Country Music Scene at Tamworth 2006.
